In Juche 112 (2023), the Central Bank of DPR Korea issued a silver commemorative coin of “Don’t Forget the Lessons of History! 1945.8.15”.
Carved on the central front of the coin is the image of a long knife piercing the flag of Japanese imperialists. On the upper part of the front are letters reading “Don’t Forget the Lessons of History! 1945.8.15” (잊지말라 력사의 교훈을! 1945.8.15).
On the central back of the coin are the national flag of the DPRK and the flag of the WPK. Seen in the upper part of the back are the letters “Democratic People’s Republic of Korea” (조선민주주의인민공화국) and in its lower part are the degree of purity, weight, face value and minting year.
The face value of the silver coin is 20 won.
The silver coin contains 62g of 999 silver.
Its mintage is 90 pieces.
