In 2017, the Central Bank of DPR Korea issued a silver commemorative coin to mark the Test-fire of the Surface-to-surface Medium Long-range Ballistic Missile “Pukguksong-2”.
Carved on the central front of the coin is the image of the Test-fire of the Surface-to-surface Medium Long-range Ballistic Missile “Pukguksong-2”. On the upper part of the front are letters reading “Surface-to-surface Medium Long-range Ballistic Missile” (지상대지상중장거리전략탄도탄) and on its right part are letters reading “Test-fire of “Pukguksong-2” 2017.2.12” (《북극성-2》형시험발사 2017.2.12).
On the central back of the coin is the national emblem of the DPRK. Seen in the upper part of the back are the letters “The Central Bank of the DPRK” (조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행) and in its lower part are the degree of purity, weight, face value and minting year.
The face value of the silver coin is 50 won.
The size of the silver coin is 40 mm in diameter and 3 mm in thickness.
Its mintage is 500 pieces.
