In 2017, the Central Bank of DPR Korea issued a silver commemorative coin to mark the Successful Second Test-fire of ICBM “Hwasong-14”.
Carved on the central front of the coin is the image of the Successful Second Test-fire of ICBM “Hwasong-14” and letters reading “Maximum Altitude 3,724.9 km” (최대정점고도 3,724.9 km), “Distance 998 km” (거리 998 km), and “47 minutes and 12 seconds flight” (47분12초간 비행). On the upper part of the front are letters reading “Successful Second Test-fire of ICBM “Hwasong-14” (대륙간탄도로케트 «화성-14» 형 2차시험발사 대성공) and on its lower right part are letters reading “Juche 106 (2017) July 28th” (주체106 (2017) 년 7월 28일).
On the central back of the coin is the national emblem of the DPRK. Seen in the upper part of the back are the letters “The Central Bank of the DPRK” (조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행) and in its lower part are the degree of purity, weight, face value and minting year.
The face value of the silver coin is 100 won.
The size of the silver coin is 40 mm in diameter and 3 mm in thickness.
Its mintage is 500 pieces.
