2017 is the Year of the Chicken. The Central Bank of DPR Korea issued a silver commemorative coin of Chicken.
Carved on the central front of the coin is the image of a chicken in the morning. On the left side of the lower part is the year “2017”.
On the central back of the coin is the image of Taedongmun. Seen in the upper part of the back are the letters “Democratic People’s Republic of Korea” (조선민주주의인민공화국) and in its lower part are the weight, face value and degree of purity.
The face value of the silver coin is 20 won.
The size of the silver coin is 38 mm in diameter.
The silver coin contains 1oz of 999 silver.
Its mintage is 500 pieces.
