In 2016, the Central Bank of DPR Korea issued a silver commemorative coin of the Artificial Earth Satellite “Kwangmyongsong 3-2”.
Carved on the central front of the coin is the image of launching the Artificial Earth Satellite “Kwangmyongsong 3-2”. On the upper part of the front are letters reading “The Space Power of Juche, Long Live Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and DPRK” (주체의우주강국,김일성,김정일조선만세) and on its lower part are letters reading “Artificial Earth Satellite “Kwangmyongsong 3-2” 2012.12.12” (인공지구위성 《광명성-3》호2호기 2012.12.12).
On the central back of the coin is the national emblem of the DPRK. Seen in the upper part of the back are the letters “The Central Bank of the DPRK” (조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행) and in its lower part are the degree of purity, weight, face value and minting year.
The face value of the silver coin is 20 won.
The size of the silver coin is 40 mm in diameter and 3 mm in thickness.
Its mintage is 500 pieces.
