In 2015, the Central Bank of DPR Korea issued a silver commemorative coin of Arch of Triumph.
Carved on the central front of the coin is the image of the Arch of Triumph. On the upper part of the front are letters reading “Arch of Triumph” (개선문) and letters “1912, 1925, 1932, 1945”, and on its lower part are letters reading “2015”.
On the central back of the coin is the image of Taedongmun. Seen in the upper part of the back are the letters “Democratic People’s Republic of Korea” (조선민주주의인민공화국) and in its lower part are the weight, face value and degree of purity.
The face value of the silver coin is 20 won.
The size of the silver coin is 38 mm in diameter.
The silver coin contains 1oz of 999 silver.
Its mintage is 500 pieces.

Arch of Triumph
The Arch of Triumph, located at the foot of Moran Hill, was unveiled in April 1982 in commemoration of Kim Il Sung’s triumphant return after achieving Korea’s liberation.
The 60m-high arch is made of over 10 000 granite slabs.
Carved in relief on its front and back sides is the immortal revolutionary hymn Song of General Kim Il Sung, and embossed on either side of the walls are 1925 and 1945 symbolic of the years when Kim Il Sung embarked on the road of the revolution and when he made a triumphant return after achieving national liberation. Below them are six-person bronze sculptures.
