In 1998, the Central Bank of DPR Korea issued a silver commemorative coin to promote China-Korea Friendship.
Carved on the central front of the coin is the image of President Kim Il Sung and Premier Zhou Enlai shaking hands. On the upper part of the front are Chinese letters reading “Meeting between President Kim Il Sung and Premier Zhou Enlai” (金日成主席与周恩来总理相会) and on its lower part are Chinese letters reading “Korea-China Friendship” (朝中親善).
On the central back of the coin is the national emblem of the DPRK. Seen in the upper part of the back are the letters “The Central Bank of the DPRK” (조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행) and in its lower part are the weight, degree of purity, and minting year.
The size of the silver coin is 40 mm in diameter.
The silver coin contains 1oz of 999 silver.
