In 1997, the Central Bank of DPR Korea issued a silver commemorative coin to mark the 100th Anniversary of Premier Zhou Enlai’s Birthday.
Carved on the central front of the coin is the portrait of Premier Zhou Enlai, the First Premier of the People’s Republic of China. On the upper part of the front are Chinese letters reading “100th Anniversary of Premier Zhou Enlai’s Birthday” (周恩来总理诞辰100周年), and on the lower part of the coin are the letters reading “1898-1998”.
On the central back of the coin is the national emblem of the DPRK. Seen in the upper part of the back are the letters “THE CENTRAL BANK OF DPR OF KOREA” and in its lower part are the face value, degree of purity, minting year and weight.
The face value of the silver coin is 10 won.
The silver coin contains 31g of 999 silver.
