2022 is a significant year of DPR Korea marking the 110th Birth Anniversary of the Great Leader of the Korean people Kim Il Sung and the 80th Birth Anniversary of the Great Leader of the Korean people Kim Jong Il. In order to celebrate this, the Central Bank of DPRK specially issues commemorative coins which are minted into gold and silver ones.
2022 is also an important year in the history of the Korean currency. It is the 75th Anniversary of the issuance of the currency of Socialist Korea and the 35th Anniversary of the issuance of the modern commemorative coins of DPR Korea.
In this important year, as a collector of DPR Korean money, I founded the website dprkoreawon.com, “Understanding DPR Korea Through Money”, hoping to promote the numismatic knowledge of DPR Korea and also the history and culture of Korea, so that readers can get a better understanding of DPR Korea.
At the same time, the Central Bank of DPR Korea has issued a number of coins with the theme of China-DPRK friendship over the years. As a Chinese, I hope that by introducing these coins, I can promote the traditional brotherly friendship between China and DPRK to consolidate the friendship the Chinese and DPRK people had forged with blood.
